I am the Marketing and Proposal Coordinator for Branco Enterprises.
What inspired you to join SMPS, and how long have you been a member?
Branco Enterprises was already a member of SMPS when I joined the team, and Gabe Lett, past president of SMPS Ozarks, reached out to encourage me to get involved. Six years later, I’m so glad I took his advice. SMPS has been instrumental in helping me navigate the unique challenges of marketing in the AEC industry, and it’s provided me with invaluable resources and connections that continue to support my professional growth.
What led you to the AEC industry and what do like about it?
I was familiar with Branco Enterprises before joining the team and had a strong sense that they were a great company to work for. What led me to the AEC industry was the opportunity to be part of projects that have a tangible, lasting impact on our communities. I enjoy the challenge that marketing in this industry brings, from highlighting complex projects to showcasing how we help communities grow and evolve. There’s a real sense of purpose in knowing that the work we do contributes to something bigger.
What valuable information have you gained from participating in SMPS?
Prior to my current role, I had no experience in the AEC industry. Marketing in this industry is unlike anything I’ve ever done before, and SMPS has been an invaluable resource—not only for networking, but also through its proposal development workshops and content. At the end of the day, it's not just about telling our story—it's about connecting the dots for the client, showing them how we can best solve their specific challenges.
How do you define success for yourself?
What success looks like for me has evolved over the years as I’ve gotten older. When I was younger, I equated success with hitting certain career milestones or achieving financial goals. Now, I’ve realized that success is more about the journey—how much I’m learning and growing both professionally and personally. I think having goals is important, but I no longer judge my success solely by whether I’ve hit them. Instead, I focus on growth—whether that’s fine-tuning a skill I already have or learning something completely new. By evolving and growing in different areas of my life, I believe success naturally follows.
W hat is the best piece of advice you have received?
It’s okay for your priorities and goals to change depending on what season of life you are in.
What is your favorite pastime or hobby?
My family and I love camping at Roaring River State Park. We always try to go for a week at least once a year and while it’s a lot of work, it’s something we all look forward to and enjoy.
What is your favorite book or television series?
My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, and I love the show Only Murders in the Building.
