Where do you currently reside (Springfield/Joplin/Little Rock/Northwest)?

Although I was born and raised in Oklahoma, I have called Springfield, Missouri, home for the past two years.

What is your current role/title?

I am a Marketing Coordinator at Toth & Associates. My responsibilities include engaging with our internal culture, building proposals, and designing marketing materials, among other things. I enjoy the creativity I get to express at TOTH, which makes each day new and exciting!

What inspired you to join SMPS, and how long have you been a member?

I have been a member since 2022. As someone new to the industry, my boss, Kevin Grinder, encouraged me to join. I was inspired to join because I wanted to be part of a community that never stopped learning. The SMPS community has provided valuable resources and opportunities for lifelong learning.

What led you to the AEC industry, and what do you like about it?

My journey into the AEC industry was motivated by my desire to contribute to building the community. At TOTH, I am involved with various disciplines, including electrical, structural, and civil engineering, as well as GIS, land services, grants, and more. I love being part of TOTH, which helps build stronger communities in so many different ways.

What valuable information have you gained from participating in SMPS?

Being part of SMPS constantly increases my knowledge and boosts my confidence! Through learning events and networking opportunities, as well as my role as the Communications Chair on the SMPS Ozarks Board, I am continually growing in my career. I'm thankful for the opportunities and people who have motivated me to improve.

What is the best piece of advice you have received?

A quote by Muhammad Ali that inspires me is, "If my mind can conceive it, if my heart can believe it, then I can achieve it."

What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

I enjoy traveling near or far, hiking with my dogs and boyfriend, painting things in nature, playing cards with my family, and helping others.

What is your favorite book?

It's hard to pick just one, but "Good to Great" is one of my favorites.
