Content marketing strategies have amplified in recent years, given the ease of seeking information online and abundant opportunities to self-publish. But given heavy workloads and information overload, it can be challenging to plan and produce content that gains the attention of clients and prospects. In this interactive session, we’ll define content marketing, discuss why it’s important, and address ways to approach it within your firm. You’ll walk away with tools to help you understand your audience, decide on topics, and create content that resonates.

A self-proclaimed word nerd, Holly Bolton, FSMPS, CPSM, is owner of 3chord Marketing, which helps design and construction firms share their stories and connect with their audiences through content marketing. Her nearly 20 years of experience include wearing many hats for a small newspaper and serving in a variety of marketing, business development, and corporate communication roles for architecture and engineering firms. A Certified Professional Services Marketer and a Fellow of SMPS, Holly is a past Society board member, past Indiana chapter president and a current SMPS Foundation trustee. In 2016, Holly was named among ENR Midwest’s 20 under 40. Co-author of the book, A/E/C Marketing Fundamentals and of the Foundation white paper, “The Client’s Use of Social Media and Social Networking,” Holly has a bachelor of science in public relations with a creative writing minor from the University of Central Missouri. Holly is on a quest to visit all 59 U.S. national parks with her husband and shares her adventures as a contributing blogger on Hashtag 59, a travel website.
